Whether it’s pain, swelling or a broken tooth, Our team can see you to help you with your dental emergency.  

Some examples of dental emergencies:

  • Severe pain 
  • Intraoral or extraoral swelling 
  • Fracture of a tooth, with or without pain 
  • Loss of a complete tooth (avulsion) or mobile tooth 
  • Blow received on a tooth (trauma) 
  • Significant bleeding 
  • Any care requested by a doctor for important or urgent medical treatment (organ transplant, surgery or cancer treatment) 
  • Orthodontic appliance loose and painful (if the orthodontist is not available) 
  • Crown or bridge decimated 

How to manage a dental emergency depending on the case?

 

  • Take a pain reliever like Tylenol or Advil while waiting for your appointment with one of our dentists 
  • If facial swelling occurs, call us as soon as possible to arrange an appointment as antibiotics will likely be required 
  • If one of your teeth breaks, see one of our dentists as soon as possible, even if there is no pain.  
  • Keep any avulsed teeth in a glass of milk and call us quickly. It may be possible to replant this tooth if it is done quickly.
