Crowns
Generally, when a tooth is decayed or broken, the dentist restores it with a composite material (filling). Sometimes when too much tooth substance is affected, the standard filling is not enough to properly restore the tooth in a lasting manner. The dentist can then offer you a crown. The crown is a fixed prosthesis that covers the entire visible part of the tooth. It is made in the laboratory with a resistant material such as zircon or porcelain. The crown restores strength and aesthetics to a tooth that is broken, badly decayed, has undergone root canal treatment or is fractured, for example.
